The PJosh Diabetes Foundation (PDF) is a registered Non-Governmental/Non-Profit Organization (RC 128359) under the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria. Our mission is to improve diabetes awareness, promote early diagnosis, and provide access to essential healthcare services and medical supplies for individuals living with diabetes across Africa.
Diabetes has become a global health crisis, disproportionately affecting Africa. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), more than 16 million people in Africa currently live with diabetes, and this number is projected to rise to 41 million by 2045. Shockingly, 1 in 2 people with diabetes remain undiagnosed, increasing the risk of severe complications and mortality.
At PDF, we believe that diabetes is not a death sentence—with early detection, proper management, and widespread education, individuals can lead full and productive lives. Our vision is a healthy, prosperous Africa where diabetes is no longer a silent killer.
To strengthen diabetes care and management in Africa, we are building a state-of-the-art Diabetes Center in Nigeria before 2030. This center will serve as a hub for:
We have already secured the land for this project and are preparing to kickstart construction. This milestone will be a game-changer for diabetes care in Africa, but we cannot achieve it alone.
One of the greatest challenges in managing diabetes in Africa is poverty. Many individuals cannot afford insulin, medications, or basic healthcare services. As a result, diabetes-related complications—such as diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy, nephropathy, and foot ulcers—continue to cause unnecessary suffering and loss of life.
At PJosh Diabetes Foundation, we are committed to providing these life-saving supplies and services free of charge. However, the scale of the problem requires collaborative action. We welcome partnerships, sponsorships, and volunteers to expand our reach and impact.
The battle against diabetes in Africa cannot be won alone. Together, we can change lives, transform communities, and build a healthier future for generations to come.
